Passionflower

A sinuous stem, a tense tendril, a bud ready to open, and the flower, bursting forth, almost unreal. Its star-shaped structure seems invented, shot through with symmetry and vertigo. Picked on the threshold of its full opening, it preserves in the plaster this vibrant tension—between strength and delicacy.
